Re:Claude Lorraine"Acis and Galatea"
Dostoevsky called this painting "The Golden Age" and had it in mind when he described an earthly paradise in A Raw Youth, The Devils, and The Dream of a Ridiculous Man. It is also the background for the devil's mocking reminder to ivan of his story of the "great Cataclysm" in The Brothers Karamazov.
