1, sweep可以当飞行中的飞掠讲。星战有许多空战场面，所以作者的这种期待是可以理解的。

2, bringing the combination of vigorous spectacle and mythic resonance he found in the films of Akira Kurosawa into American commercial cinema。这个是lucas的梦想。梦想是把vigorous spectacle和mythic resonance he found in the films of Akira Kurosawa这两样东西combine into美国商业电影中。vigorous spectacle容易理解，眩目奇观的翻译不错。后面一半是指lucas在黑泽明的电影中找到的mythic resonance，resonance是个很难翻译的概念，在艺术领域是讲接受了初步的冲击后的延迟不去的效应，我不知道中文中如何对应翻译。lucas受黑泽明的影响很大，所以他的电影中有许多从黑泽电影来的东西，例如从小人物的视角观察重大的历史事件以实现反讽的效果。

3, “are constrained by their obligation to speechify.” 指的是那些老演员们的演技被必须要进行的演讲束缚了。

4, 断句应该是from a rancid political hack into a ruthless totalitarian ，这句在说我们眼看着议长从一个腐败的政治家hack into一个无情的极权主义者。hack into应该可以翻译为“突然变成”，不过这样翻没法体现hack在这里的那种清理之中，意料之外的微妙的感觉。
