My answer is "D".
This kind of verb, like---"see", "make", "help" and so on---could be used following with original type of other verbs directly. This way, answer "C" is not correct.
The sentence above could be replaced as--"the hostess brought the dishes in, as long as she saw the guests sit themselves at the table."

BY the way,"seat" can also be used as a verb, but always in a passive voice, e.g, " Be seated" is a formal expression for " Sit down." If used in a positive way, " seat" can mean "offering ...( a space etc.) for sth." e.g.  " The hall seats will seat 200 people."

我看a,b均可,seat oneself 是固定搭配不说了,后面用bring on的话应当是针对前面那个table 来说的,也就是,bring the dishes on the table;用bring in 的话我看也对呀,要是女主人不是在dining room 的不定那个房间里张望,然后觉着是时候把菜端“进来”了呢?
